Scientific writing

On 7 May 2015 at the University of Girona, the Dr. Antonio Esteve Foundation presented Developing skills in scientific writing, a comprehensive manual to help scientists improve their writing of articles in English. Written by John Giba, American author of several publications on biomedical English, this new book complements the course with the same title organised by the Dr. Antonio Esteve Foundation throughout Spain.

ROBERT A. DAY is a professor of English at the University of Delaware, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in scientific and technical writing. For 19 years he directed the publishing programme of the American Society for Microbiology and was managing editor of the Journal of Bacteriology and eight other scientific journals published by the ASM. He was then Director of ISI Press. He is a past president of the Society for Scholarly Publishing and of the Council of Biology Editors. He is also the author of Scientific English: A Guide for Scientists and Other Professionals, second edition, published by Oryx Press in 1995.
